R.L. “Butch” Jones

My name is RL “Butch” Jones. I was raised by an extraordinary, God fearing, strong, single mother and grandmother in a low income neighborhood along with 3 other siblings, me being the youngest. After following the wrong voices into the world of drugs, crime, promiscuity and more, God stepped in when Rev. Price was reading Rom. 7:15, “I do not understand what I do, because I do not practice what I want to do.” I raised my hand and asked him could he explain that verse.  I never understood that scripture but after he explained it, I was never the same.

I began to study the Bible and enrolled at Moody Bible Institute and later the Christian Leadership Alliance Bible College.  In 2012, I was ordained and began to volunteer with The Way Out Prison Ministry. That same year I retired from the Department of Defense after 32 years as a Quality Assurance Specialist.

Currently, I serve as Chaplain with The Way Out Prison Ministry at CCTC located in Cleveland, Ohio.  I minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ too soon to be released men and women clients. To God be the glory for what He did with a mess like me.  Thank you, Lord!
